Banks

Eurobank Cyprus

Eurobank is now Eurobank Limited, following Eurobank's acquisition of Hellenic Bank and the subsequent merger of the two banks in 2025.

If you value in-person access, Eurobank is a good fit, with plenty of locations and business centres across the island, alongside online and mobile banking. Personal services include accounts, savings, cards, mortgages, and other lending, with separate options for businesses, international clients, and wealth and investment services.

Bank features

  • Personal and business banking
  • Eurobank Cyprus App and Online Banking
  • Euro and foreign-currency accounts
  • International banking services

Overview

Banking With Eurobank Cyprus

Eurobank Cyprus works with personal customers, small businesses, larger companies, international clients and people who need investment or wealth-management services.

The bank has plenty of physical locations if you prefer sorting things out in person, but you can also handle everyday banking through its app and online banking.

At a regular branch, you can open or manage an account, discuss borrowing and get help with other day-to-day requests. If you own or manage a company, Eurobank also has Business Banking Centres in all five districts, where you can discuss financing, payroll, company payments and trade services. Separate corporate and international banking teams deal with larger financing needs, multi-currency accounts and cross-border payments.

Eurobank ATMs let you deposit cash and cheques, not only withdraw money, and eligible euro transfers can be sent instantly through SEPA Instant at any time of day. The contact centre is also open on Saturdays, and if you have a Cypriot biometric ID, you may be able to open your first account through the app without starting at a branch.

The Eurobank and Hellenic Bank merger

Eurobank first acquired Hellenic Bank, then combined it with Eurobank Cyprus in 2025. The legal merger was completed in September, and the resulting bank now operates as Eurobank Limited.

The merger brought together Hellenic Bank's retail network and Eurobank Cyprus's stronger focus on corporate, international and private banking. As a result, the new Eurobank Limited now works with a more varied customer base than either bank did before.

There is one important change if you held deposits with both banks. They are now treated as one credit institution, which means eligible deposits are combined under a single €100,000 protection limit rather than being covered separately by each former bank.

Products and services

Eurobank Cyprus Products and Services

You can keep things simple with Eurobank or use it for more involved financial needs. You'll find the usual accounts, cards and savings alongside home and car finance, business funding, international banking and investments. You can manage many of its products online, although some applications still require approval or a branch visit.

Accounts and Deposits

Eurobank has accounts for everyday banking, saving, shared finances and younger customers.

You can choose from:

  • Basic Account
  • Current Account
  • Joint Account
  • Savings Account
  • Fixed Deposit Account
  • Notice Account
  • My Account 18-25
  • Youth Club Account
  • Winners Team Account

The Basic Account covers the essentials, with a euro account and debit card for a fixed monthly fee. If you need extras such as a chequebook, overdraft or foreign-currency account, the Current Account gives you more options.

For savings, you can keep your money accessible, lock it away for a fixed period or choose a notice account that sits somewhere in between.

Business Banking

Eurobank works with both small businesses and larger companies. You can use it for day-to-day company banking, payroll and supplier payments, as well as financing for equipment, property or working capital.

Business products and services include:

  • Business Current Account
  • Business debit and credit cards
  • Payroll and supplier payments
  • Cash-management services
  • Overdrafts and working-capital finance
  • Business Green Loans
  • Capital-expenditure finance
  • Commercial-property finance
  • Financial leasing
  • Corporate banking
  • Automated banking
  • Factoring and trade services

The Business Current Account supports multiple currencies and lets you issue debit cards to team members. If your company handles a high volume of payments, Eurobank can also process bulk payment files or connect banking services with your accounting system.

Cards

Eurobank offers debit, credit and prepaid cards for everyday spending, teenagers and businesses. There are also higher-tier credit cards with extra travel and lifestyle benefits.

Available cards include:

  • Visa and Mastercard Debit
  • Teens Debit Visa
  • Visa and Mastercard Credit
  • Visa Gold Credit
  • Mastercard Platinum Credit
  • Mastercard World Elite Credit
  • Business debit and credit cards
  • Visa and Mastercard prepaid cards

Selected cards earn rewards through the €pistrofi programme, and you can add eligible cards to Apple Pay, Google Pay or Garmin Pay. The Eurobank Cyprus App also lets you check your PIN and temporarily freeze your card if you cannot find it.

Loans and Financing

Eurobank has a fairly wide lending range, so you are not limited to a standard personal loan or mortgage. There are separate options for cars, education, greener homes and vehicles, as well as borrowing for professionals and businesses.

Personal financing includes:

  • Home loans
  • Green home loans
  • Consumer loans
  • Personal loans through the mobile app
  • Car financing
  • Green car financing
  • Student loans
  • Professional loans
  • Overdrafts

If you already bank with Eurobank, you may be able to apply for a personal loan of up to €30,000 through the app. For approved loans up to €10,000, the money can be paid directly into your account without a branch visit. The bank will still review your finances before approving the loan.

Digital Banking

You can do quite a lot through Eurobank Online Banking and the Eurobank Cyprus App without visiting a branch. Along with payments and transfers, you can manage cards, open selected deposits, download account documents and apply for certain credit products.

Through digital banking, you can:

  • Check balances and transactions
  • Move money between your accounts
  • Make local and international transfers
  • Send SEPA and SEPA Instant payments
  • Pay bills
  • Manage standing orders
  • View and manage cards
  • Create a virtual card
  • Open or change selected fixed deposits
  • Download payment confirmations
  • Request balance, interest and IBAN certificates

Eligible customers can also apply for loans, credit cards and overdrafts through the app. Some can be approved and signed digitally, while home and car-finance applications usually require additional steps.

International Banking

Eurobank handles international customers through dedicated International Business Centres rather than standard personal banking alone. If you live abroad, run an international business or regularly deal in more than one currency, you can open accounts in euros and selected foreign currencies and use the bank for cross-border payments, lending and trade services.

International services include:

  • International Current Accounts
  • Euro and foreign-currency accounts
  • SEPA and SWIFT payments
  • Debit cards
  • International lending
  • Trade services
  • Shipping banking
  • Foreign-exchange services
  • Dedicated relationship support

To open an account, you first complete a questionnaire and then meet with the bank online or in person. Eurobank will ask about your income or business, why you need the account and the type of transactions you expect to make.

Investments and Wealth Management

With Eurobank, you can choose how involved you want to be in managing your investments. You can make your own trades, get recommendations from an adviser or hand over day-to-day investment decisions to a portfolio manager working within an agreed strategy.

Investment products and services include:

  • Shares
  • Bonds
  • Investment funds
  • Structured products
  • Derivatives
  • Foreign exchange
  • Precious metals
  • Investment advice
  • Discretionary portfolio management
  • Global custody and depositary services
  • Wealth-management credit services

These services are available to both local and international customers. If you invest through Eurobank, check the fees, product risks and any minimum investment requirements first, as investments can lose value.

Insurance

Eurobank also offers insurance through two companies in the group, with different providers handling life and general cover. You can insure yourself, your family, your home, your car or your business without dealing with a separate bank provider.

Available insurance includes:

  • Life insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Income protection
  • Savings and retirement plans
  • Motor insurance
  • Home and contents insurance
  • Business insurance

ERB Cyprialife handles life, health and longer-term savings products, while ERB Asfalistiki covers cars, homes and businesses. Your policy and any future claims are handled by the relevant insurance company rather than Eurobank itself.

Pros and cons

Eurobank Cyprus Pros and Cons

Eurobank gives you plenty of ways to bank in person and online, with a large ATM network, app-based onboarding for eligible customers and strong payment support. The trade-offs are mostly around access and eligibility: branch hours are limited, some services still need an in-person visit, and not every customer can use the same digital setup.

Pros

  • Eurobank reported 56 branches and business centres and 156 ATMs at the end of 2025.
  • Eligible customers can open their first account through the Eurobank Cyprus App without a branch visit.
  • Eurobank ATMs allow cash and cheque deposits, balance checks, transfers between linked accounts and PIN changes, not only withdrawals.
  • Online Banking supports SEPA, SEPA Instant and SWIFT payments.
  • The bank offers dedicated services for businesses, international customers, shipping companies and wealth-management clients.
  • Selected loans and credit cards can be requested through the mobile app and signed digitally.
  • Eurobank cards support Apple Pay, Google Pay and Garmin Pay.

Cons

  • Branches are only open during weekday banking hours, generally until 14:30 Monday to Thursday and 14:00 on Friday.
  • App-based onboarding requires a Cypriot biometric ID. Dual citizens must apply at a branch.
  • The reported 56-location network includes both branches and business centres, so not every location is a standard personal-banking branch.
  • Other local ATM withdrawals can cost €3.50 with cards not linked to an exempt account.
  • International Business Centre customers face separate onboarding, maintenance and review fees.
  • If you held deposits with both former banks, they are now combined under one €100,000 deposit-protection limit rather than two separate limits.
  • Not everything can be completed digitally. Joint accounts and accounts for minors require a branch visit, while housing and car-finance applications still require additional in-person steps.

Eurobank Basic Personal Account

The Basic Account is Eurobank's simplest everyday personal account. For €2 per month, you get a euro account, a standard debit card and access to the bank's branches and digital channels.

You can have your salary paid into it, arrange standing orders and withdraw or deposit money without notice, and euro withdrawals are free from bank ATMs in Cyprus and elsewhere in the EU. The account does not support foreign currencies, cheques or an overdraft.

The Eurobank Notice Account is a 35-day notice account, but you can still withdraw up to €2,000 each month without waiting or paying an early-withdrawal charge.

For anything above that amount, you need to give the bank 35 days' notice. If you take the money earlier, Eurobank calculates a charge according to the amount and the number of notice days remaining.

You can make unlimited deposits, manage the account through the bank's digital channels and link an existing debit card for ATM withdrawals.

Eurobank Cyprus Open Banking

Eurobank Open Banking lets you connect your account to licensed third-party financial apps and manage selected banking activity outside Eurobank's own channels.

Depending on the provider, you can use it to view accounts in one place, track spending or make payments through another app. When you connect a service, Eurobank handles the login and approval through its own secure page rather than asking you to share your banking credentials with the provider.

You can later review or remove connected services through the Open Banking Dashboard. Access is only available to authorized providers, and you stay in control of which accounts and services they can use.

Eurobank also offers API Banking for businesses and regulated providers that want to connect banking functions directly with their own software.
